UNMANNED

(UN)MANNED provides avionics solutions for both manned aircraft and unmanned aircraft systems. For manned aircraft, (UN)MANNED provides instrument software for “glass cockpits” of aircraft. Typical examples are Primary Flight Display (PFD), Flight Management Computers (FMC), Engine Indicator and Crew Alert Systems (EICAS), and Mission Computers. All of the cockpit software delivered by (UN)MANNED is DO-178/ED-12 certified, sometimes up to design assurance level A. 

DO-178 is a very good way to write software, as it makes every effort to ensure the correctness of software. However, complying with it is a lot of work. (UN)MANNED has created a software platform Sol, which allows to provide the high-level requirements of the software. Sol not only automatically generates the executable software for the target hardware, but it also automatically generates all DO-178 documents below the requirements (statically determine the correctness properties of the requirements with respect to the target platform, including the worst-case execution time prediction, data flow analysis, output prediction, and much more). The main remaining work is to do integration testing on the high-level requirements. 
(UN)MANNED has developed software for a ground station for Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAVs, which is entirely written in Sol (and hence certifiable). This cockpit is especially well suited to the operational needs of long duration observation missions executed by a collaborating pilot and intelligence officer.
(UN)MANNED is in the process of building the onboard avionics system for MALE UAVs. The focus of this avionics is matching the requirements as defined for manned aircraft, and enabling optionally piloted scenarios.
