Forschungszentrum Informatik (FZI)

The FZI Research Center for Information Technology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology is a non-profit institution for applied research in information technology and technology transfer. Its task is to provide businesses and public institutions with the latest research findings in information technology. Application research with reliable knowledge and technology transfer is the core business and competence of FZI. Led by professors from different faculties, research teams at FZI interdisciplinary develop and prototype concepts, software, hardware and system solutions for their clients. The FZI House of Living Labs offers a unique research environment for applied research.

In the REVaMP² project, the objectives set by FZI cover the extraction of variability from legacy assets, such as source code, and approaches for variability specification. Extracted variability information will be used to support system qualification, in particular product lines and variants of embedded hardware/software systems. This enables the co-evolution of captured legacy system models towards novel hardware platforms.
